Summary

This project will design, analyze and experimentally test ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) designs to come up with an integrated roadway/ACC system whose design is based on vehicle safety, vehicle performance, traffic flow performance and environmental considerations. The design will be done in two stages. In the first stage, new designs of ACC systems will be developed based on the above performance considerations. In the second stage, link layer controllers will be developed to interface with the ACC systems.
