Task Order 6611
Transit Operations Research
Northern California Integrated Corridor Management Demonstration (I-880 in Alameda County)
Wei-Bin Zhang
Program Leader (Transit Operations Research), PATH
Summary
This project covers the first phase of a three-phase Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) initiative to improve mobility and safety within corridors and to advance the development and deployment of ICM systems throughout the United States.
ICM systems need to be developed and provided with the organizational guidance, operational capabilities, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) technical methods that will lead to their success. One or more demonstrations of this system will be conducted in metropolitan areas like the Bay Area to demonstrate the coordination of operations on separate corridor networks using tested ICM systems. The end result is the improved effectiveness of total corridor capacity.
